WHAT Obama MUST do TODAY!
He comes out and says...

LEAVE THE PALIN Children out of this race. This is a private matter and if I was in the similar situation I would want some privacy for this matter. Thank you.

He needs to do this today.

5. Why/
What else can he say? I asked my wife who got prego out of wedlock at 18 years old what he shouls say or do. She said the exact same thing. You cannot allow the Repukes to get the upper hand here and if he comes out with a statement immediately it will be respectable and tactful. You can't attack someone for taking the high road with somehting like this.

Attack the bridge to nowhere and Troopergate.

17. This would implicitly acknowledge that Dems are behind the attacks
That is EXACTLY what the McCain camp wants him to do. Obama is better off just avoiding the subject just like he did in his first Palin commercial where he pretty much ignored her and focused on McCain and Bush.

20. Who's attacking? We're just asking questions.
If McCain had asked a few questions 2-4 weeks ago, it wouldn't be an issue.

Except in Alaska.

21. You misunderstood my point
I'm saying that Obama himself should not address this issue like the OP wants him to. I think the internets have done a great job on this.

That's my take. Do you have a better idea how to handle? I'm open for discussion.

8. Here's what I think is
totally stupid. This board, whether or not it was a factor in this news coming out, now says OBAMA needs to make a statement? Bullshit. They all put it out there, knowing that this would come back to this board, and the fact that people here support Obama. This board, has thrust this upon the Obama campaign.

9. The stuff we talk about here has nothing to do with Obama. We
can discuss it all we want.

Obama won't because he's running for president. We're not.

14. You are correct
This DU universe...which I visit, read and post is really insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Just like Freeperland. I find it comforting to surround myself with people who are like-minded but we don't yield some sort of power.

We all like to armchair quarterback.

18. That's exactly it. We like to discuss stuff. And this is the place
that it's safe to do it.

And I'm sure Obama will say hands off the kids. He's got to be careful, though. Because if he does it before he's asked about it, then he draws attention to the rumors and it can't look like that's his intent.

13. I would only want him to do this if...
he actually meant it. I don't want him to say that just to seem like he is a fair, nice guy.

Remember when McCain released an ad congratulating Obama recently? Everybody knows McCain couldn't give a rat's ass about Obama, but it made McCain seem friendly. That's not what I want Obama to do.

19. Why do DUers think they are so important that a multimillion dollar campaign organization
listens to and follows the advice of a tiny percent of the public who frequent a political forum?

25. He should say, if asked, "As far as I know, Sarah, not Bristol, is the mother of Twig"
"And it's none of our business if Gov Palin's teenage daughter is pregnant for the second or third time. That is a private family matter."
