What is Sarah Palin's husband's role in all this?

I really believe that he is the one calling the shots in Sarah Palin's career, and he is the one pulling the strings. He probably convinced her to accept the VP position. I think he likes being the power behind the scene, and this would have been the perfect opportunity to increase their national profile, and further their long term political goals.
