I can't believe Palin allowed her name to be put in nomination KNOWING |
|
that her underage daughter's PRIVATE BUSINESS would be exposed and scrutinized.
I wish nothing but the best for Bristol, her child, and her child's father.
But Governor Palin, this was a really shitty thing to do. Even if Palin had announced it a month or two ago, it would be better than allowing the gossip to circulate the way it has been.
And this not only shows the horrible judgement of Sarah Palin, it shows the horrible judgement of John McCain for not vetting her properly in the first place.

Sarah Palin has repeatedly exhibited poor judgment, and this is one of the more egregious examples. It's also an example of the poor judgment of John McCain.
The "liberal blogs" are getting the blame for bringing this story to the spotlight, but I say the blame for the scrutiny can be laid directly at the feet of Sarah Palin and John McCain. There is NO WAY I would do this to my teenage daughter, political ambition be damned.

kept Sarah's pregnancy a secret for 7 months.
Made Sarah fly to Texas 8 months pregnant.
Made her decide to accept the call from John McSleazy.
Got her daughter pregnant.
And then announced it to the world to quash a rumor.
Yep It's all the fault of the commie pinko liberal blogs!

She dragged that pregnant kid out to the national stage. It is her responsibility and hers alone. I will not shut up about it. Her poor judgment and poor parenting cast NO aspersions on Bristol at all

Whomever had the baby, that doesn't really matter in light of the fact if either version is true, and one has to be, Palin is in trouble. Then there's the bridge to nowhere, troopergate, etc.

It strikes me as downright narcissistic to seize a career opportunity like this when your kid is at such a sensitive point in her life. If voters connect based on common values, what does her decision to put her kid through this say to those voters? My less charitable side thinks this is a really passive-aggressive way to "punish" her daughter for getting knocked up at 17.

It is OK for this Mom to pursue this position, as a working mother. However, what mother would knowingly subject her pregnant teenage child to this sort of NATIONAL press scrutiny. This screams pure selfish ambition - in my mind. Everyone is free to make their own choice, but I'm sorry, I just think this is an absolutely horrendous decision this mother made.

She's now using her daughter's pregnancy to try and score political points with the far right about abortion--as if the girl ever had any real choice about keeping the child given the opinions of her parents. She's exploiting her pregnant teenage daughter.

49. Big problem with her judgment as a mother |
|
It was bad enough the lack of judgment involved the day her water broke. Of course, that and the fact that she hid her own pregnancy so long may have been because, though she doesn't believe in abortion, she may believe in miscarriages and stillbirths.
However, to follow up that poor judgment, with choosing to leave newborn, special needs baby, to go into a whirlwind campaign was bad enough, but to leave her young pregnant teen to face this pregnancy, at home, in the glare of the media, while mom is out campaigning, just boggles my mind.
