What did the bettors know...
That the MSM missed? I frequently check the Bodog gambling website for <cough> research purposes. Going back about two weeks ago, the odds on Sarah Palin being named as McCain's VP pick were 7 to 1, roughly the same as Joe Lieberman and better than "established" choices such as Tom Ridge or Condoleeza Rice.

How did the "smart money" have her so low when she's a $10,000 claimer in a Triple Crown Race?
