A newbie is confused

I'm not an old hand around here and there are a coupla things I'm confused about. What is level 3 and what's the deal with pizza?

1. Pizza is a tombstone.

Someone gets banned with a tombstone. Disruptors, freepers.

2. Pizza means someone was tombstoned (banned from DU)

for not following message board rules. Level 3 means there are an unusual number of people logged on and in order to keep the site working some forums and functions are unavailable.

It's against the rules; We're not actually supposed to promote Banning and accusations toward Trolls and Disruptors, hence indirect references to Pizza.

6. As DU gets busier during newsworthy times, the admins can temporarily remove features...

to keep the place running smoothly. The levels indicate which features are being temporarily suspended - avatars, signature lines, etc.

Pizza is an indirect reference to someone being banned from DU. When someone is banned, their profile is replaced with a tombstone.

Based on rising traffic volume, certain features are tied off at DU so the increased traffic doesn't crash the server (or slow it down too much).

And, as stated above, a "pizza" is a tombstone (when somebody gets banned from DU).
