The Democratic warrior
In peaceful times they are considered unneeded and often are unwelcome

Those that fancy them selves high idealers look down their noses at the "unprincipled", "uncaring" and "sexist/racist/insensitive louts". They do this while enjoying the benefits brought by the warrior's many battles.

The warriors are never publicly thanked or appreciated by the campaigns (although all of them are thankful for the dirty tasks they perform).

The warriors are considered the gutter dwellers in the Democrat's hierarchy, not fit to mingle with the rest.

The warrior is never content to just mingle with their own kind. They take the fight right to the right wingnuts in both real life and online. They are fighters, that never give up or give in.

Yet the Democratic warriors go to bed election nights knowing the left it all on the field. They held nothing back and used every weapon at their disposal as they fight for the well being of our very nation.

The warriors have some victories to their name.

Senator Web wouldn't give the Dems the working majority, if the warriors didn't go after the Macacca comment.

Palin would still be touted as mother of the year, had the warriors (at DU and the rest of the web) not pushed for and got the truth.

The warriors were often attacked and criticized when they attacked George Bush, while his popularity was soaring. Yet in the end they were the ones that led the way to the national awakening.

Politics is a dirty business and not for the faint of heart. Sure it feels good to be able to say "I took the high road", but that's small consulation when the right wingers beat us out at the polls (or steal the close ones).

So here's to the Democratic Warrior... This one's for you!
