MrScorpio goes to see Obama! (Dial up alert)
These are crowd shots. Livvy has all the close ups.

It was great, Detroit belongs to Obama. Obama tee shirts all over the place and I could feel the electricity in the air.

The Labor Day Parade

Getting into the venue, Detroit's Hart Plaza

The crowd gathers

The Prelims

Obama Speaks

The Crowd Listens

My Great Niece, Kadie, says "hi!"

Obama asks for a moment of prayerful silence for the people of the Gulf

Before you know it, it's over.

Uncle Joe's Fist says "Hi"

Time to party

Welcome to the "D", baby!

Wish that Obama would come to my little burg, *sigh*, but I live in a blue state, so nobody bothers about us... :-(

14. I was there ...
and I didn't like the fact that we couldn't see Obama because the media had that stand in the way. I did get one picture but it was very hard and it was not very clear had to stand on my tippy toes...

15. I noticed that
Plus all the food stands running interference

There were at least THREE DUers down there.

Too bad we didn't coordinate and have a DU get together

17. I was hoping that someone from DU ..
would post some pics. There were more food stands than I can remember I haven't went to Hart plaza in a while I usually attend some of the festivals at least three or four. I didn't realize how big the jazz festival had gotten with bands seemingly on every block and so many food stands.
