McCain signs! Get yer FREE McCain signs!!!

My friend and I went to the SantaCaliGon Festival in Independence, MO this afternoon. We go every year. There are craft booths and homemade root beer floats and live bands and lots of neat stuff to look at. It's a huge festival that covers about a 6 square block area of downtown Independence.

Some of you may remember this is the city where DUer galloglas was arrested for voting last month.

So we went by the Obama booths. There were two of them and there were lines in front of each. People were buying yard signs ($7) and registering to vote. It was an exciting scene. I saw some people I know who were working and they said they had registered 250 voters. They seemed pleased with that number.

Then we went by the McCain booth. Here is what we saw:



I was wearing an Obama shirt so I asked my friend to go up there and find out how much the yard signs were. She came back laughing and said "oh, they are free". I said "WHAT!" and she said "yes, the lady said I could have one for free and in fact, I could have as many as I wanted for free."

I have NEVER in all my years ever heard of a presidential campaign GIVING AWAY YARD SIGNS. That is just unreal.

And it is an extremely good sign. Remember, this is a swing state.

5. I saw my fist one in Anchorage the other day

when I was canvassing for Obama. The owner was in his driveway shining up his motorcycling and I started a conversation with him(if I had to guess, he was early to mid twenties in the military), we talked for a few minutes and when my wife and I started walking to the next house he waved and told us good luck. I would say he might vote for Mc* but I don't think there is any type of enthusiasm for him if he does.
