A music recomendation for the RNC
How about "Trailer Trash" by Modest Mouse as the intro music before Palin takes the stage?

4. Off-topic - but can we make a miniscandal out of the fact that McCain keeps using
music without permission from the artists? It's not clear to me if he's even paying royalties or not.

7. He most likely is, just not directly
There's some massive fund that basically handles all copyrighted music and you just have to pay a set amount for permission to use some song to it. It's not like every wedding band directly seek permission to play every song they do at weddings from the copyright holder.

8. That's what I'd be curious about. Does the McCain campiagn just use a song until the
lawyers show up with a cease-and-desist order?

9. If they've paid the fund, they've got full permission
This was covered in my Mass Communications class my final semester. It's not much different from night clubs playing music really.

12. I'd be shocked if they didn't
That'd be too much of an incompetent oversight even for McCain's campaign. Local clubs handle it fine, national presidential campaigns should be able to.

13. Remember, we're talking about Republicans here. I'd be shocked
if they did pay for the music!

6. I've known wealthy families with pregnant teenagers and poor families
that got all the kids into college. Trailer trash is not a good phrase to be using.

10. How about "Who will stop the rain"
Or "A whiter shad of pale"

we skipped the light fandango
turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
i was feeling kinda seasick
but the crowd called out for more
the room was humming harder
as the delegates flew away
when we called out for another VP
the Governor had nothing to say

and so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that his face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale

you know, he said there is no reason
and the truth is plain to see
but i wandered through my playing cards
and i would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well been closed

and so it was that later
as that miller told his tale
that his face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale

No I don't want them to use it because it is one of my all time favorite songs.
