9. I propose that we get one post per major McCain gaffe per day

that would come in between 6-9 a day.

17. another thought for your personal viewing sanity - sort threads by start time
instead of last reply. Then "sinking" is not an issue and each thread gets equal amounts of your attention. If there's an interesting one, you can bookmark it or reply to it and easily find it later.

20. Do you mean a limit on new threads per day in General Discussion?
Some Topic Forums that aren't moving too fast, unless you're a very, very, very slow reader.

21. I think if people spent a bit more time posting to appropriate threads instead of starting new ones
We wouldn't have this problem. There must have been 50 different threads (at least) speculating about the "baby," then another 50+ about the daughter being pregnant, then 50+ of people bitching about the other 100.

I don't know if it's possible on DU but I also think if there are a lot of threads on the same topic, then the threads should be combined or maybe during the election season a forum specifically for scandal should be started. Those types of posts are what seem to knock the other stuff off so fast.

Lastly, you can always hide threads that you don't want to follow...

22. I Understand Your Point, But.....
I don't like the idea of limits. Sometimes I'm following a post and in 5 mins its on page 2. Well, I just go to page 2.
