Obama wants us to donate to the Red Cross. McCain wants us to
donate to some place called AidMatrix Foundation. Here is what AidMatrix says it does:

"Aidmatrix is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit headquartered in Dallas, Texas, USA, with offices in Germany and India. The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. builds and operates powerful technology hubs that support diverse stakeholder groups in their efforts to work together to solve the world’s most challenging humanitarian crises. More than 35,000 leading corporate, nonprofit and government partners leverage our solutions to mobilize more than $1.5 billion in aid annually, worldwide. The donated goods, money and services impact the lives of more than 65 million people."

Now, I don't know that this is a group that actually helps "people". Sounds to me that it aids companies to aid people.

Oh, and Cindy McCain sent us to a website for donating to this group that has her husband's name plastered on it. Nothing like politicizing this disaster.

1. It sounds like a right wing think tank to me.

Never heard of them. I'll just stick to giving to the Red Cross.

3. Here is the link to their "About Us" page. I can't figure out what
the heck they are. It certainly isn't a place I'd send my money.

4. They're a "charity efficiency" place. That pretty much means "grifter" to me.

"Shari Temple, DAG Vice Chair and delegate to the Denver convention is a future sponsor of a WW edition. However, since Shari works for Aidmatrix Foundation, a non-profit that provides software technology to improve the humanitarian donation processes particularly for hunger, medical and disaster relief, I thought it would best to make her appeal now when the need is so great. Aidmatrix concentrates on software to make the logistics of disaster relief work for all kinds of agencies and they are currently collecting donations in support of China and Myanmar. You can find out more info on the homepage – www.aidmatrix.org . For those involved with humanitarian projects, please contact her at shari_temple@aidmatrixeurope.org on how Aidmatrix may be able to help your organization."

Now to find out who this Shari Temple character is....

EDIT: At first glance it appears she's an Obama supporter. So possibly the foundation is on the level. I'll go with the Red Cross, though.

7. I'm with you Bloo. I think I'd rather my money go to direct relief, as opposed
to software technology to improve donations, whatever that actually means.

6. I checked on charitynavigator.org which is a great and it...
didn't even have this group on its list which is EXTREMELY extensive and is a wonderful site to go to before you donate any money to a charity. It say it is a 501c3 which is a charity, but why isn't it a.org and not a .com? I don't understand why it's not on the list? Does anyone know??
