Out of Order?

We had heard hints of this. But just moments ago, Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC said that Republican lawyers are currently doing a vet of Sarah Palin up in Alaska. We'll get you the video shortly. But it seems that the really deep vet of Palin started after her selection was announced.

2. Of course, she was vetted. They're pretending to vet her now to
come up with a reason to toss her back to the secessionists.

Even if they replace her they are still screwed.
Replacing her will make them look disorganized and historically does not end well.

10. It is up at MSNBC on the website - they only initially vetted her months ago
Course we all heard on Saturday or Sunday that a Republican group of 8 had gone up to vet her and were staying at the Wasila motel (hotel).....

I don't know how the hell you give this job to someone, have a press conference, bring her around to several gatherings and THEN vet her??

12. Isn't it kind of late to vet her?
I would think they are there to make a determination has to whether or not to keep her or dump her.

If they are vetting her after announcing she was the VP pick then they are considering dropping her.

11. apparently they never vetted her
On the original thread about her not being vetted, someone posted that they believed it was true because a friend of theirs who works on the Obama campaign had told them that when Obama's team went to the Alaska library to look in the archives, the librarian told them that nobody had asked to see them before, that they were the first.

My guess based on everything I've read today, from this to Pawlenty's reaction according to the MN news (he wasn't informed until sometime between 1 and 4am Friday morning) is that Palin was being groomed for '12, which would have given her 6 years as gov and given them plenty of time to scrub her corrupt history.

After Obama's speech Thursday night, they knew they were toast. From seamless unity from Hillary, a strong endorsement from Bill, passionate attacks from Kerry, and Obama's power (so much for Greek columns at the Parthenon, more like Russel Crowe saying bring it on at Roman Coliseum accordig to one pundit), every tactic they used backfired.

So Palin is a Hail Mary pass. And they are now trying to scrub her history. Too effing late though, since if the poster referenced above was right, then Obama's team already has the goods on her. Abuse of power, nepotism, corruption.

Let the games begin. Please pass the popcorn. This is gonna be fun!
