OMG, Pulling on Tinfoil..... McCain is destroying the Republican Party on purpose....
I mean seriously, Put it all together and open your mind to the possibility. In 2000 the Republican Party basically bent over and took a gigantic shit on McCain the POW War Hero over Bush the draft dodging moron. When I say took a shit, I mean really took a shit. A big stinky shit. They said he'd had a "colored" baby in an affair. In reality, he'd adopted a daughter not from Amerikuh as the South Carolina Republican base likes to call it. Plus he never bent over himself and did a little sucky sucky on the Wack job born agains who are STILL RUNNING THAT PARTY.

So tinfoil time people. McCain is throwing it on purpose. He's picked the candidate the born again wackos wanted, only to kill them. The extreme pro life (even in rapes & incest), no condoms, shoot you in the face with an AK-47 pro-gun, gladly pocket oil funds, shoot the baby bear, global warming is great for Alaska, Russia is going to invade the US (she also has great experience with Santa Claus), no foreign policy experience (GWB anyone?), no economic success other than elected office (GWB anyone?), and finally a SHITLOAD OF PERSONAL PROBLEMS AND POLITICAL SCANDALS. Perfect for a far far far far right born again agenda. Wonder who demanded that? Or else they'd ruin his convention!

I forgot. Vote Vagina! LOL! Do they think all women are stupid?

Does anyone really think McCain didn't know everything about this woman? He'd had the far right yelling in his ear for 3 months! Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! In the end the wackjobs "won out" while his friend Joe Biden won the other sides nod.

Am I crazy to think this way? I'm still enjoying digging up dirt on Palin, but I'm seriously wondering if McCain is throwing this election on purpose to leave his "mark" like Jack Nicholson did in Wolf.

1. That's about as plausible an explanation as possible
HE realized he'd never get to be president and has been plotting his revenge for eight years.

Who knows? Could be!

2. Not McCain.

I believe he reallly wants the Presidency. I think he is batshit insane, or has alzheimer's or something. He does not appear to have all his faculties. If this is true, it is likely that whoever is behind the Republican machine, or the powers that be, are allowing him to destroy it. Or it could be that God simply loves Obama very much. (I'm an atheist, so that was pretty much a joke.)

4. If this were happening in 2004, maybe, but he's just a doddering
old fool, who has hitched his star to the Rovian mentored factions of the REPUGNANT party to finally get his time in the oval office. I don't even think he knows how badly he is f__king up.

6. I agree with you and a previous poster. This man doesn't
have all his faculties. I see dementia written all over everything he does and says. He's acting as my sister did 8 years ago...one who had never bought a brand new car, bought one and paid cash for it. She didn't even drive it. Just liked the color. Same thing here with McCain. He liked her looks and he bought her.

5. I think the whole party is in sefl-destruct mode......
If the GOP had been smart, they would have moved to impeach Bush/Cheney themselves when the approval ratings started getting close to 30%, and got someone likeable to replace those two. That person would be running for re-election now.

That's what the GOP did when the wheels started to come off the Nixon Administration. Ford might have been re-elected, had he not pardoned Nixon.

7. No I think McCain is just stupid...he's ambitious but dumb
he thought this was a good strategy to counter Obama. Obama being the first black candidate, running a campaign that's historical and exciting. So McCain thought he could pick off the angry clinton voters and energize his campaign by just going out grabbing any female .

8. That was actually my first thought and I think I posted it
that he was pulling a reverse Lieberman. He has nothing to lose. He knows he can't physically handle the job and I really don't think he wants it. He is taking the party down in revenge.

9. The biggest question here, is why is there not an
intervention? Are they letting him?

11. You know it does seem almost feasible.
Look, McCain has been running a diabolical, ridiculous campaign from the start. He pledged not to make it personal. He went and made it personal immediately. Media ignored it. He flip-flopped on almost every position. Media ignored it. He made myriad foreign policy gaffes, allegedly his strong point. Media ignored it. He used a televised religious forum to make himself look like a religious nutcase while telling everyone else he's a maverick. Media ignored the contradiction. After making his entire campaign AND SETTING UP THE GOP CONVENTION to be about EXPERIENCE, he selects Palin, a joke candidate with the thinnest resume of any governor or senator as his VP and while they are loathe to do so at first, eventually he's finally making a chink in the media armor. They are FINALLY having their hand forced and reporting the downright incompetence.

Seriously, the man has run the worst campaign of all time, and he essentially goes and does everything he says he won't.

13. I don't think it's that sophisticated McCain is just not on top of things and not ready for office.
