1. Whether or not she is forced out, I hope this question is constantly asked.
She is sinking him.

No matter how much of a disaster she turns out to be, Palin is on the ticket till election day.

7. The AIP Connection Will End Her Run
which is why I am hoping it doesn't break the national media too soon.

Tomorrow might be too soon, but during the day on Wednesday would work because Wednesday night she accepts the nomination which moves her away from being just John McCain's problem and into being the entire GOP's problem.

9. No, for bad and worse, McCain and the GOP are stuck with her....
Dropping her now would insure an Obama/Biden win by a landslide.

12. No chance

Well, as close to zero as there ever is, once a VP has been identified.

The poll results in this thread right now are truly scary.

Even the Eagleton example isn't directly relevant. Current conventions are much later. Eagleton was replaced on August 1, 1972, a full month earlier than where we are now.

Look at it this way: The GOP introduced the term flip-flopper in 2004. If McCain dumped Palin or she resigned, that would be an ultimate example of a flip-flop and the political analysts and late night comedians would have a field day at the GOP's expense. There is no chance they risk something like that. It goes back to Bill Clinton's summary of "strong and wrong..."
