I'm getting to think that Obama should produce an ad like Humphrey did re: Agnew in '68
about Palin.

Agnew was decried by many in '68 after Nixon selected him (also 1.5 years as governor). He has constant foot in mouth decease. He called a Japanese reporter "a fat jap" and memorably said, "if you've seen one slum you've seen them all." Anyway HHH made Agnew a major issue, in part because his own choice, Ed Muskie, was almost universally applauded.

The HHH ad, I believe, had a picture of Agnew and somebody saying "Spiro Agnew?" followed by screams of laughter.

This Palin disaster is about as bad or worse.

1. He doesn't need to, yet.
The M$M is just getting to know her, and learning things mcpow never checked on. If she is still around in a week or two, he should lay into her then.

It's turning into a train wreck with no needed help from Obama.

6. Are the Republicans finally having their Eagleton fiasco?
My gut is telling me that Palin will go a la Eagleton and Jeb Bush will do the Sargent Shriver thing!

2. And yet HHH lost due to Vietnam, and we got Nixon. Sigh.

4. true, but in the last month he went from 20-pts back to losing by only 0.5%
another few days most analysts felt and he would have won.

"Do we get to win this time?"

5. Yeah, well, that's risky, because Agnew turned out to be such a great Veep.
A man of the people, who took his bribery cash in paper bags, rather than some high-falutin' briefcase.

:sarcasm:

7. Um, Humphrey lost?
I don't know if he needs to take a page from the playbook of a losing campaign. If he wanted to do that, he could drop Joe Biden and pick Mylie Cyrus instead.
