Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 08:21 PM by npincus
He said it looked like a bakes shop in Louisiana, and said, "Is that the best they could come up with?"...

The pic was large, maybe 8 x 10 inches...

Holy shit, that was good!!!!

43. I hate to see Wasilla get pounded. They were going to recall her if you
remember. Most people live in small towns. You may have great big buildings in your noble cities but you also have Rudy Guiliani and other classic assholes.

Very awful and dastardly amusing at the same time. Sort of what i expected of McCain. No matter who he chose, he would get a dud. Any chaos that ensues and it won't stop don't you know is all McCain's fault.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry anymore. :P

And that Barbie doll in the split screen must have said Palin was competent and that women would love her a million times. She had nothing else.

Just because everything is so new. It looks funny, but there's a context to it.

Having said that, Wasilla is a very rough, redneck town!

27. Anyone know if Palin's job as mayor was full-time or part-time?
Maybe that can be determined once she releases her tax return from that period of time (if she does). If she was earning peanuts and working only 3 or 4 hours a day because of the small size of the town, it makes her mayoral experience seem even more irrelevant.

39. The small town I grew up in (sort of)
has a population close to 7,000, while Wasilla has 5,000. I cannot imagine the mayor of my sort of hometown going from that position to the governorship of the state. Of course, Chicago has 9 million people in it, while Alaska has 600 thousand plus in it. All these numbers are according to Wikipedia.

Why my hometown is only sort of my hometown, is because I actually grew up in a village just outside that town. My village now has a population in the 700s. But it now has more money coming in from businesses than the town it borders, which is really funny to those of us who grew up in the village. We were basically kids from the wrong side of town. Of course, we were not alone because the town also had its own wrong side in the opposite direction to where we were. East and west bad. South and north good. ;)

After thought, my village's city hall is around this size I think. Not sure, haven't seen it in a long time.
