It's a Judgement Call... 2 reasons I think Palin is unfit for V.P.
Her water breaking and choosing to put her child at risk by traveling from Texas to Alaska to give birth.....and secondly... one that I haven't heard brought up yet...her actually accepting the nod for V.P. KNOWING her 17 year old daughter was pregnant, knowing full well what kind of scrutiny she would be facing. I just think she didn't put her FAMILY first. It seems that she didn't care one bit how this would affect her daughter.

The time was not right for her to go public on the national scene. She should have declined as all the others did...

VERY poor judgment VERY poor....

These are the two reasons I would never ever trust this woman.

6. Oh... I agree...but these two are her biggest errors....
I couldn't and wouldn't have subjected my 17 year old daughter to such pressures...especially since she was pregnant. She needs her mother to be by her side..not campaigning around the country.

Just my Opinion.

16. Maybe her daughter pleaded with her to accept?
How the heck would we have any idea?

Maybe she was feeling guilty enough and didn't want to add this to her guilt.

Maybe they hate each other and she's going to leave home tomorrow anyway.

Maybe it's none of our business.

America needs responsbile education of contraception (eg. condoms) for prevention of teenage mothers and the limiting of sexually transmitted diseases.

5. Exactly....
While watching the Stephanopoulos show yesterday... I actually heard one of his political spinners say that he thought that her traveling to Alaska to have her baby was a good thing!!! I couldn't believe that he said that. My wife and I had two extremely difficult pregnancies with her being a diabetic... and I consider any pregnant woman going into premature labor a very high risk...especially knowing he was a downs syndrome child.

It's beyond belief.

8. already risky cause she is 44, premature, down syndrome and leakage=waterbreak
i had two, one water broke, one leakage both i was in hospital immediately and they started montoring the baby. induced

this woman had from 4 am un midnight, no monitoring the baby, already stressed at this point, she has an exhaustingly long day which causes more problems. medical care was inaccessible. not even like sittin it out at home 5 min from a hospital. nothing up in that plane to help her or the baby.

it makes no sense

7. and these are the two points that we really need to hit. The other
stuff will come out as they try to explain/defend these points. By going after her judgement over the delivery of her baby and exposing her daughter to this publicity we stay clear of any bad press or accusations of a smear but still get this stuff exposed. Her 'judgement' is fair game in an election. in this way, we still keep this stirred up but still can maintain the high road.

Go after her judgement!!!!! the rest will follow.

9. exactly. for three days talking about htis, we went after judgment. those whining about
the kid and her "personal" life or reproductive life..... no. that is not what it is about

they are running her as THE mom of the year and it qualifies her to be vp. she failed

10. I agree completely..... although ... I really don't think the Obama camp has to do anything...
He did the right thing today to distance himself from the controversy. He just has to be patient and watch how the media plays this thing out. She seems to be self destructing without having to even address these issues.

11. another point. those whining about we are gonna take down obama with this, bullshit.
obama did exactly what he needed to do, which of course we all know he is clever enough he would. and how silly to say we are gonna take obama down with this

12. i have been on this board more last three days cause of this. it makes me soooo angry
and her being a pro life feminist. i am equally angry about that. her hubby sits in meetings to make decisions cause she is a woman and cant do it herself. no feminist there and i hate she uses the term

i digress

i think this is important. they run her as mom and then she gives us two clear examples not of controversial parenting choices, but flat out not being a parent. we alll chose to be parents in our unique way and i embrace that, as long as we are being a parent to our children. but these two decisions she was not being a parent. she came first. and a parent NEVER comes first.

14. You said it like a TRUE parent... the PARENT never comes first...
Until that child is an adult....EVERY decision a parent makes should put the child's needs first.

Unfortunately very few parents seem to realize this. This is exactly why it usually not a good thing when a teenager has a child. The mindset just isn't there yet.

Not to say that some teenagers grow up really quickly and do a fine job... but for an adult to put her career ahead of her family is a disgrace.

13. This just fries me
The republicans fall all over themselves about family values. What bullshit! Sarah Palin has a four month old Down syndrome child. He 17 years old child is going to have her own child. When John McCain called she should have have turned him down. Who in their right mind would do that to her kids? And John McCain, if he was told about this by Palin, should have told her. sorry, you need to stay home and take care of your kids! What a pair of lamebrains!
