I'm sure as hell not going to say it would never happen to my kids.

But I cannot imagine, should my teenager come home pregnant someday (god forbid!), that I'd pick that time to run a national campaign. I mean, I can't imagine being so sure that "I" am the only qualified person for the spot that it would be worth shoving my teenager into the national spotlight just as she (or he) is dealing with this.

1. Are you running for Vice President, unknown, from Alaska?
That's the point.

2. True, but then Sarah "Annie Oakley" Palin is one of few
state governors whose personalities would push them to REALLY preside at a shot-gun marriage.

3. Very true. There's also the great conservative belief that with action comes consequence.
Sarah Palin has worked to keep teens from understanding sexual reproduction. She has advocated removing access to birth control from all people - teenagers and adults. She is attempting for force abstinence on anyone, married or unmarried, who doesn't want a child.

Now her unmarried, 16yo daughter has come up pregnant because she obviously didn't agree with her mother's positions on premarital sex. The question I have is if her insane views aren't even shared by her own family, why in the Hell should anyone else follow them? And like you said, Sarah Palin thinks so little of her family that she's willing to allow her own daughter to be dragged through the mud in a national spotlight for the sake of her own ambition.

This woman isn't fit for the position of vice-president.

She's not even fit for the role of mother.

4. Without access to birth control, teens not only risk pg but also HIV.

This should be stressed 10000000 times over and over.

Wishing doesn't protect against sexually transmitted, and sometimes deadly, diseases.

Shame on these head up their ass Fundies.

5. I think the Democrats are more concerned with Palin's positions on
issues that are close to this: sex ed, supporting teenage mothers, etc.

I know a "moderate" who said she'd vote for McSame, except now she feels this woman has too much on her plate. The really conservative religious folks will either get embarrassed about this or feel like it's a chance to show how they are "pro-life". I hope they don't turn Bristol into some sort of "earth goddess" just for being pregnant.

8. Palin Must Have a HUGE Ego
She has a special needs baby, she has three other children at home, one going to Iraq -- and she knew when she said yes to McCain that her daughter was pregnant.

Indeed, does she think she is so great, so important, so indispensable ... that she couldn't turn down old John's veep offer for the good of her own family?

I'm tellin' ya ... there is something mighty strange about this lady.
