1. She won't be on the ticket at the end of this week.
To saythis is an Epic Fail is itself an Epic Fail because words alone cannot measure the size of this fuck up.

3. Sarah will be gone by week's end, McCain's first failure as party leader
What other loser will McCain pick?

2. Nope, and if you ask me...
You get too close to the War Hero POW, and you'll hear him ticking too.

They are doomed.

4. She and mean-ness toward her will be a GREAT distraction from the shortcomings of McCan't
At minimum the result wil be a solidified Republican base.

5. They had better be careful - she's got a gun and knows how to use it.

6. I think that she will nail down and energize a big part of the conservative base.
Frankly, there are a lot of people out there who have had life problems similar to hers, and a life that's not exactly middle class suburban.

It is, to a certain extent, a class issue.

I grew up in a small town where a lot of people didn't have a lot of money and not too many kids went off to college like Palin's husband. They fish, they snowmobile.

Many kids who don't want to stick around but don't (or don't have the grades) to go to college, join the military, like Palin's son.

And yes, girls still get knocked up.

And a few people drink and drive, and hunt and fish out of season like the husband.

It's a different life, and I don't think that anyone still living with a foot there will have a lot of appeal.

Personally, I think that she is self-centered, aggressive, very ambitious and totally in over her head.

But she might help McCain win this thing.

7. And a lot of those people you're referring to ...
... are in dire straits right now, and are looking for an administration that is going to HELP them get out from under, not simply be one of them.

The Palins sound like great fodder for a TV series, but nothing more.

10. Doesn't matter to a lot of them.
My Mom's neighbor for one. Her crazy fundy preacher says that the Bible talks about war all the time, so war will always be with us and not to bother voting to end the war. She has a 21 year old son. She's going to love Sarah Palin.

Don't ask me to explain, because I don't understand it at all.

A few may go Obama, but a lot won't, unless Obama can come up with a real, concrete plan to bring those factory jobs back to Michigan.

I haven't heard him give that speech yet, and the folks I'm talking about don't spend lots of time on the 'net.

Franks asks, "What's the matter with Kansas? Well, it's, "What's the matter with Michigan?"

12. The fact remains that millions of middle-class Americans ...
... are hurting right now - really hurting - and they don't see things getting any better with McCain, who's basically telling them that things are fine, and whatever hardships they're having or whatever fears they are living with are all in their minds.

With a candidate who has already demonstrated how out of touch he is with the problems people are facing, there is the added problem of his questionable health and ability to even serve out a full term.

Throw into the mix a perky little nobody, who admittedly "doesn't know" what the vice president does, and "hasn't really thought" about Iraq. Yes, that's the ticket - just the kind of second-in-command the voters can feel confident about.

Let's not forget that the GOP's biggest ploy has been to terrify Americans about the imminent threat of Al Qeada, Iran, and various and sundry 'terraists' from who knows where. And NOW those same people are supposed to cheer a VP (who would possibly wind up as Prez due to McCain's health) who doesn't know a THING about foreign policy?

No doubt McCain has gained some Fundie votes with this pick - but at the cost of how many other votes from people desperate for a solution to their immediate woes - not a soccer mom with NO qualifications other than a stint with the PTA.

McCain blew it - big time! - and I couldn't be happier.

8. Hope
It's not one of the choices.

9. At this point, McCain can't dump her without wrecking his own candidacy.
Doing so would require him to admit he showed dreadful judgment and made a reckless choice in picking her. He would look dangerous and incompetent. He'd probably have a hard time finding a replacement (who wants to be labeled as runner-up to Sarah Palin?).

No matter what, McCain is going to hold on to Palin. Even with trooper-gate and Alaska secession. His own ambition comes first, his country only second.

11. McCain can just blame anonymous "liberal bloggers"
for attacking the candidate's family. I can hear the resignation speech now...
it's unfair to the family for me to continue...
it has become clear that I a distraction...
I was "just trying to protect my family" by covering up the pregnancy for a little while...

I want to put her family ahead of my career..

These rumors are very painful to my family...

etc etc

*boo hoo hoo*
*sob sob sob*
*cry cry cry*

In other words, he has an out by blaming us. *shrug*

In the end, he'll get the boost from his base, and the $10million he got last week, without ever actually having to serve with this joke on wheels.
