NY TIMES: McCain Staff arrived in Alaska ONE DAY ...... ***Dupe and other thread is better -nt
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 10:17 PM by democrat2thecore
Stinging article from Elisabeth Bumiller on the McCain (non)vetting process says she was actually a last-minute pick because McCain really wanted Lieberman or Ridge, his campaign was against it so he made a snap decision for Palin. The first time McCain staff landed in Alaska was Thursday - one day before announcement. Unbelievable.

1. Doesn't his staff work for him?
Christ, he's going to blame the help? A real leader would have told his staff, "Look, you work for me!" This is getting more troublesome by the hour.

2. McCain will state that he was in prison camp when Eagleton wasn't vetted properly, in 1972.
McCain will state that he was in prison camp when Eagleton wasn't vetted properly, in 1972. McCain was released in 1973.

Eagleton was announced by George McGovern as his running mate July 14, 1972, but it was soon found that "Between 1960 and 1966, Eagleton checked himself into the hospital three times for physical and nervous exhaustion, receiving electric shock treatments twice." Eagleton withdrew August 1.

4. Can we have a President now who thinks with his head, and not his gut?

6. "Because John didn’t get what he wanted. He wanted to do Joe or Ridge.”
She's a goner. The campaign'll blame it on the fundies and tell 'em to suck ass, get on board with McCain's first choice or get used to Obama selecting Supreme Court judges for the next four to eight years.

7. Some leader. If Palin drops out, McCain should too out of shame.
