QUIET STORMS: "If there’s a guy who’s lost his job, that’s my brother" Thats OUR President
I know that there’s some folks that are going through their own quiet storms.

All across America there are quiet storms taking place. There are lives of quiet desperation. People who need just a little bit of help.

Because if there’s a poor child out there, that’s my child. If there’s a senior that’s having trouble, that’s my grandparent. If there’s a guy who’s lost his job, that’s my brother. If there’s a woman out there without healthcare, that’s my sister. Those are the values that built this country. Those are the values we are fighting for.

“Then it don’t matter. Then I’ll be all aroun’ in the dark. I’ll be ever’where – wherever you look. Wherever they’s a cop beatin’ a guy, I’ll be there. If Casy knowed, why, I’ll be in the way guys yell when they’re mad an’ – I’ll be in the way kids laugh when they’re hungry an’ they know supper’s ready. An’ when our folks eat the stuff they raise an’ live in the houses they build – why, I’ll be there..."

If Obama ever needs a job after being president he can take up where Steinbeck left off. They guy is so talented!

4. This reminds me of the first time I KNEW Barack Obama was the real deal.
It was after the 2004 convention speech but long before he began his run for POTUS.

He and Michelle were on Oprah - it was a full show just letting people get to know him better. And at one point he said that every day he asks himself a question along the lines of "What would I do if I had to choose between food and necessary medication? What would I do if I knew I couldn't afford to send my child to college? What would I do if I couldn't afford to put a dinner on the table for my family tonight?" And he went on to say that this country would be a much different place if every one in Washington asked themselves a question like that every day.

I was mightily impressed - that moment is burned in my brain, I can picture it so clearly. And that, to me, is a clear reason why this man HAS TO BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT!
