4. I chose "other". They can leave the union but must join Canada.
I don't want any maverick states running amok causing trouble with the Russians.

19. I figured we need to cover our asses.
You know their governor has all this foreign policy experience with the Russians, we can't have her thinking she could start conquering some land masses and all to change to the Alaskan way of life. I would be no good at fishing or killing moose. :D

26. Remember she has control of the Alaskan National Guard if they leave.
Plus she hunts, skins, and taxidermies moose, bears, and wolves. That says it all. When she runs out over there, she'll want ours. I should call PETA about her...

6. No. They joined the union in the last century.
I have dibs that my state should be able to secede first because we have been a state longer. We have more money than any other state and should be able to go first.

25. I'll have to ask Cokie Roberts. Apparently, she's the authority on non-American U.S. states.
On the August 10 edition of ABC's This Week, ABC News political analyst Cokie Roberts criticized Sen. Barack Obama -- who was born in Hawaii -- for "going off this week to a vacation in Hawaii," which she said "does not make any sense whatsoever." Roberts stated: "I know his grandmother lives in Hawaii and I know Hawaii is a state, but it has the look of him going off to some sort of foreign, exotic place." Roberts continued: "He should be in Myrtle Beach, and, you know, if he's going to take a vacation at this time."

We don't want that biting us on the ass. Alaska might think they can infiltrate and take us over and create WMD's. We don't want that. They'll get us back for Palin's humiliation.

They must give allegiance to Canada. Further more, it can look like a peace offering to the Canadians for all the jokes we make about their accent and their boring ass tundra of a nation. :D

and then we can invade them and take their oil.

Maybe that's the master plan behind this seemingly crazy pick.

It's 3 fewer electoral votes the GOP has to start with.
