If they can do that without violence, that would be great! :)

1. If the crowds stay large all week
the media will have to cover them.

2. It might throw them off their game a bit
If Giuliani acknowledges the protest in his speech tomorrow, it means the impact was pretty huge.

3. One thing is clear, this group is absolutely non-violent
and a perfect cross section of average Americans. If there's any violence it will come from the other side. Rove is probably screaming at his TV right now, "Damnit get violent!" and mobilizing his goon squad to stir up some.

6. I heard there have already been arrests this morning.
A guy handing out protest route maps at the corner of 8th and 14th told me he'd already seen a police vehicle filled with people who had their hands behind their backs.

4. Today will show the rest of the world
That there's a huge difference between Americans and the American government, especailly the Bush junta. That will be a huge help for this country, all by itself.

If we can manage to keep daily protests in the news, that will be even better, stealing the headlines from the little fascist and his tent meeting.

5. I hope it stays peacefull.
If the crowds stay peacefull and as large as they are now this will great.

Could you imagine if the last Asshat gives his speech the media cuts to a split screen of him and the protesters?

That would be sweet.

9. This reminds me of.......
Woodstock ! Seriously. Nobody had any idea so many people were going to show up and I think this is going to surprise a lot of people in a similar way - without the music. :)

11. Protesters will be in trouble tomorrow
Today there is not much traffic and so they can block the streets a bit; but tomorrow when folks go back to work, protesters blocking the streets are likely to be arrested. I just hope everybody remains calm and peaceful. You can bet that if the crowd gets out of hand and appears to be violent, it will only play into the RNC's hands.
