I am MAD AS HELL!
I remember a time in America when a train wreck like the McCain campaign would certainly lose the election, but now we have to wonder, don't we? I have sat here reading about this mess, and watching it on television, and I am still afraid they will win. I am scared that selfish, self-absorbed woman, who certainly cares nothing for her daughter, will wind up a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

And the person I am mad at is McCain. What a selfish, egotistical bastard he is. We don't owe him any respect. I don't care how long he was a POW. He doesn't have any respect for America.

1. Our confidence in our political leaders has been shaken
But I am still confident that a majority of Americans will see past McCain's phoniness and elect Obama, a president that shares most of our family values.

5. I agree. I don't owe that stubby-armed little troll an ounce of respect.
Bozo and Clarabelle can take a leap.

2. Not only does he not have respect for America, he has no
respect for other men and women who wear or have worn the uniform, he has no respect for negotiation and dialogue with other nations and it goes on. He changes his political line as quickly as storm wind blows, he is dangerous for America and the world. And he is proven with this choice of Palin that he will attempt to win at any cost.

4. Here's a semi-comforting thought, then
"The Americans will eventually do the right thing once they have exhausted all other options."

-Winston Churchill. More or less accurate. ;)

I view my fellow Americans this way, and I really thing they're running out of those options now. I'm hopeful. Audaciously so, even.

7. Well, thank you.
I like that line, "I'm hopeful. Audaciously so, even." I need to believe, I know, but I believed in 2004, and they stole it. It's hard not to be nervous.

8. I share those same scars...
Right there with ya, punkingal. 2004 was a real heartbreaker. I remember vividly the day after, with the Bush-supporting redneck - an industrious one, mind you, but still - leaning out the window of his van and asking what I thought about how it went. I almost cried. But I managed to make a joke: "oh... we might live." To his credit he didn't really gloat after that, but at that moment it felt like somebody had died.

Keep the flag high and your powder dry.

9. RIGHT ON
I am watching TV and the RNC meltdown is being minimized and attributed to the hurricane. I haven't heard a peep from the media about how today McCain is begging Ron Paul to support him. With the endless discussion about how divided the DNC would be they are ignoring the disastrous RNC. Ron Paul has sold out his rally tomorrow and is expecting 18,000 people. The republican party is in complete disarray and yet I too am wondering if they will still manage to steal the election.

12. Hi, Sweet Thang!
Nice of you to show up. I don't post much any more, just lurk around. And we thought the world was nuts when we were moderating DU back in 2004, didn't we?:hi: :pals:
