Bush to Speak to Republican Convention

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos reports: After skipping the opening day of the Republican National Convention to personally check the emergency response to Hurricane Gustav, President George W. Bush will keep his appointment with the party faithful.

Bush will speak to the RNC Tuesday in St. Paul, one day after the convention opened to an abbreviated schedule due to the storm.

Hurricane Gustav hit the Gulf Coast almost three years to the day after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area, and left deep political wounds on Bush and his administration.

Eager to demonstrate the lessons learned from the Katrina criticism, Bush visited evacuee centers in Texas today. And Republican candidate John McCain spent the day at a disaster relief agency in Ohio and packed boxes of cleaning supplies to be sent to the relief effort.

on edit

with troopergate and AIP starting to break it seems that they want a diversion even if it is Bush.

So I hope you heap on the praise, Mr. President. Tell us why John McCain is so great. :D
