2. Obviously it has to be
Obama, he eats arugula, drinks tea, doesn't home school his kids and went to an ivy league school! Nothing more unpatriotic than that

3. Yeah, apparently peeling off 10% of the USA land mass is better than not wearing a flag pin
I made up the 10% land mass but I'm sure Alaska is a big hunk of US

If Alaska breaks off then we have no choice but to go spread some Democracy to them.

6. Sarah Palin did not want to be an American, right up until she ran for
mayor and realized it was prudent to be a Republican to gain power in Alaska. I can't imagine a more damning thing in your history, when running for the highest office in the land.

7. Well, not quite
I've lived in Alaska. My 2004 voting was split between Democrat, and AIP.

Though the party is staunchly Alaska-first, they don't seek immediate independence. They want a vote. You see, Alaskan statehood was not given the proper vote to Alaskans, so the AIP wants a do-over, with the following options.

1) Remain a Territory.
2) Become a separate and Independent Nation.
3) Accept Commonwealth status.
4) Become a State.

You'd be hard-pressed to find Alaskans that would take anything other than #4. It's a purely symbolic thing.

10. Nope
Alaska wasn't given the full range of choices open to the territory when statehood was put up to vote. The AIP wants to rectify that, even though the result is already known.

The flag pin on the other hand is a meaningless gesture of jingoism, without any root in an actual issue.

Not saying that the AIP is the sharpest nail in the box (I've had four years to realize I voted for a couple boxes of cocoa puffs in 2004), just that their platform isn't actually calling for an independant Alaska.

Which is good because an independent Alaska would turn into one of those "failed states" faster than you can spell "Murkowski"

9. "Palin supported a big ass state seceding from the US" wrong phrasing
"Palin wanted to break up the USA" or "Palin wanted to destroy America" is better.

13. Obama didn't wear a flag pin. Palin wanted to take a star off the flag.
That's how to phrase it.
