last time GOP picked a supremely unqualified woman....we ended up with Alito!
remember? George Bush threw out what looked like an insane pick in Harriet Miers. After the dust settled, though, we ended up with a judge on the bench that was a card carrying conservative right there in the Bork/Scalia mold.

THe question is....if this whole VP choice flames out for McCain and she drops out, will we end up with a tool of the BORG like Romney or Ridge instead?

5. exactly. McCain will have appeased his fundie base
and she will seem so extreme and so full of problems that Romney will seem like a tower of righteousness that anyone could imagine in the White House.

8. point is....could be a rope a dope. he looks like he's down...
then comes back with a choice like ROmney and all of a sudden they are back in business against the "guy who's too young and doesn't look like us".
