ABC/GMA: The McCain campaign refuses to say when they knew about the pregnancy |
|
One of their reps was on ABC this Morning and wouldn't answer a direct question from Diane Sawyer about "exactly when" McCain was told. She did say this was "part of the normal vetting process," but not when that part of the vetting process took place.
They can't say he knew prior to appointing her, because then the question is a) Why did you go ahead with her nomination anyway? and b) Why didn't you tell the world right away? They could say we knew beforehand and we didn't disclose it because it was a private family matter, but the evil blogs forced our hand with their dirty rumors, but they aren't going the full distance with that absurd angle (yet).
At any rate, the disarray of this amateurish campaign continues to be on full display.

1. They are caught in a glorious pickle |
|
They can't admit they didn't know or they look like lazy idiots and if they admit they did know, then the world wants to know why they were trying to hide it.
Checkmated on that one.

2. They couldn't have know when they originally said they knew |
|
Having only talked twice, I doubt that Oh BTW, my daughter is pregnant came out in the short conversations. All we can hope is this keeps fracturing the McCain campaign through the month of September and into October.

4. They didn't do a normal vetting process or they would have known.. |
|
especially if they did it over the phone. Were now hearing stories that they have people on the ground do the vetting now. A 70 question form ( boy I can only guess at some of them) is not how you vet a person, you need face time.

6. I believe when a religious person says that |
|
it means God is the One that is above their pay grade.
Obama used it at Saddleback a few weeks ago.
