We should lampoon the term "maverick" whenever possible
It's becoming quite a joke that what would be flip-flopping or cheating for everybody else is considering "mavericking" for John McCain. Thus, we should actively use the term in absurd everyday situations to show how ridiculous the label is.

For example:

Marion Jones doesn't abide by doping rules because she's a maverick.

Jude Law is a cheater because he's too much of a maverick.

Vladimir Putin is too much of a maverick to let the rules of democracy keep him down.

Etc.

8. The old "Maverick" teevee show from the fifties featured the gambling Maverick brothers.
They only wanted to make money playing their game, poker. Do we want to gamble the presidency to someone who sees the country as the wild wild west and who is only interested in making money for his cronies?
