OBAMA BREAKS 50% IN RASMUSSEN POLL! HUGE DEVELOPMENT!
For those who have been following the polls, you know how big this is. Obama breaks the 51% in the Rasmussen Daily tracking poll. This is the best Obama has polled in Ras since the beginning. Furthermore, party weighting for this poll isn't even the most favorable it has been for Democrats during this election. The largest party weighting for Democrats was back in May with a 10.1 spread in favor of Dems. This month we are looking at only a 7.6% spread in favor of the Dems.

This is where I believe things will settle out. Obama will remain between 50 and 51% and McCain will have to struggle to get past 48.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracting 48% of the vote while John McCain earns 43%. When "leaners" are included, it’s Obama 51%, McCain 45%. This is the highest level of support enjoyed by Obama at any point in Election 2008 (see recent daily results). Tracking Polls are released at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day and a FREE daily e-mail update. is available.
Despite all the national attention that has been focused on Sarah Palin, public perceptions of the Alaska Governor have changed little in the last few days. She is still viewed favorably by just over half of all voters. A separate survey found that Obama is number one and Palin number two on the list of candidates people would like to meet.

1. Yeah, I've heard the talking heads
blathering on a lot in the past about "Why can't Obama break 50%!?" So, yes, this is definitely GOOD news.

2. It only matters if we don't take it for granted and get out to vote
and equally important, ensure that the votes are counted

4. YES! And we still need to register MORE
voters in all of our states. And we need to make sure that we keep the focus on McCain's record of voting with Bush 90% of the time, PLUS his now all too apparent BAD judgment!

3. I'd like to think so, but.........
It's way too early, too much stuff can happen.

This is like Hillary having it locked up a year ago. Much can and will
happen between now and November.

7. It's not at all like Hillary having it "locked up". McCain is going down in flames.
They are going to have to do EPIC-LEVEL Damage Control to survive.

Yes, anything can happen. But it would have to be an epic failure that Obama himself does.

5. It's statistical noise unless he manages to keep it for more than a couple days.
Sorry, but I hate tracking polls. They are a leaking, cancerous boil on the ass of humanity.

17. Yes, and that's why NOBODY should be hoping McCain dumps Palin from the GOP ticket
Palin is bad news for McCain and that means that Palin is good news for our side.

20. And yet, yahoo's front page has this headline:
"Obama's DNC bounce smaller than others and shrinking"

It is an article from Politico.com. Now my question is: what polls are these people watching?

Ho can these people spin the fact that Obama has reached 50% with something negative? Sheesh!
