Obama had 38 million viewers with the networks and cable news. If you add in another 2 million from PBS and another million from C-Span it was about 40 million viewers. (Plus more with online.)

So with Obama at about 40 million viewers what will be McCain's total audience? Remember he'll be competing with the hurricane coverage for Hanna, leftover hurricane coverage from Gustav, and the end of a Redskins/Giants NFL season opening game and post-game wrap-up show.

I'm thinking no more than about 23 million.
