If Palin is withdrawn now, there are those in the Repub base who will be heartbroken

One of the people I see semi-regularly kept repeating this weekend "How do you like my girl!"

I replied that she wasn't MY girl.

All he sees is the NRA membership. He's excited to vote for McCain/Palin now and he wasn't excited at all before about voting. I don't think he even knows or cares about the rest of it.

If the GOP withdraws her now, I predict the base will be in revolt that their red meat was taken away.

That's all she really was (besides a cheap ploy to get Hillary voters). Red meat for the base.

But then, the base probably was voting for McCain anyway. This choice only affected whether or not they'd hold their noses when they did so.

As for swing voters and independents, I reckoned she'd scare the hell out of them.

Do we have any numbers yet on whether McCain got a bump from Palin or not?
