God bless Thom Hartmann. He's got Amy Goodman and other reporters |
|
that were arrested yesterday by the jackboots in the twin cities covering the protestors. This is so unAmerican I can't believe this is my country. They told of how they were treated, but said the way the scrawny kids protesting were treated was worse. Between preemptive raids on organization headquarters and confiscation of their cameras and hard drives and the use of pepper spray and rubber bullets on kids who were protesting peacefully and the fact that they were bloodied and hurt in other ways, then released without charges whereby they won't have any recourse in court. Amy worries about the data base they are building.
Damn where is the ACLU?????

3. "where is the ACLU?" Training 75 lawyers... |
|
Amy Goodman: http://www.opednews.com/articles/Amy-Goodman-Arrested-At-RN-by-Kevin-Gosztola-080901-693.htmlShe also wrote that, “Meanwhile, in the Twin Cities, the evening Obama was giving his Democratic acceptance speech in June, the St. Paul Police Department arrested a 50-year-old man peacefully handing out leaflets promoting a Sept. 1 march on the Republican National Convention. ACLU Minnesota predicts hundreds will be arrested in St. Paul, and is organizing and training 75 lawyers to defend them.”

I'm glad they are on the ball there. The M$M is totally ignoring this story so far.

6. Not what MSNBC is reporting. |
|
Apparently there was a group calling themselves the RNC Welcoming Committee, self-described anarchists and they started trouble (cut to broken store window for effect}, then other the other groups would follow them, so these “other groups”? They deserved it:sarcasm:. According to MSNBC 280 were arrested and 130 face felony charges.

11. Did they mention that felony charges in protests are always dropped? |
|
And are just standard police intimidation tactics? Of course not.
Look for some of the protesters to star in some of MSNBC's PRISON DOCUMENTARIES!

13. They did mention it and pointed out that it puts the people who were |
|
assaulted in a black hole because there is no recourse for them in court. Amy also brought up that she fears what kind of database they are building up.

What really happened according to MSNBC. Police would follow the groups that looked like trouble or were starting trouble, but then another group they weren’t watching due to following the first group, would start that pesky trouble (they broke a Macy’s window?), and that is when the police had to throw the tear gas, just had to because with 50 mil extra reinforcement money they just couldn’t keep their eyes on all the trouble makers at once.
A funny note, well ironic, MSNBC keeps reporting that twice as many demonstrators have been arrested at the RNC as opposed to the DNC. You think this is due to the idea that there are probably 10 times as many protestors at the RNC? Or maybe due to the paranoid punitive and militaristic ideology of the repukes? Hmmmm.
Did anyone else read where Mitt Romney actually infiltrated the DNC to heckle the media? Investor’s Business Daily reported on it. Mitt obtained a press pass from CNN. The Repugs played the protests/undermining smart. Well, sort of smart, because after all, it was just Mittens.
