I hope McCain does not get a big audience the night of his speech.
I don't want a lot of people listening to his lies about Obama. They might believe him. Yes, I have that little confidence in the public.

1. McCain's speech is up against the NFL season opener between the Giants and Redskins....

It will be a VERY low-rated speech.

2. And Hurricane Hannah
I think that the NFL timing was planned. The hurricane is an additional "blessing" for the Repubs. So few people will watch it, all they'll get is the dissected punditry and sound bites.

3. His speech is opening night of the NFL season
So I doubt if a whole lot of people will be watching McCain. Even some repubs will likely be watching NFL over McCain. And I feel sorry for you, having "that little confidence in the public". I suppose since you are better than everybody else, you are justified in your belief.

5. Yes, I have that little confidence in the public that elected George W. Bush not
one time but TWO times!

4. They'll probably dial down the expectations of his speech anyway.
As long as he doesn't stand there and start drooling, they'll say he did better than expected.
