This is set for tomorrow? Once she has been nominated, what would have to happen to replace her if she stepped down?

What about ballots in the various states? Aren't they right up against deadlines now? If they changed the ticket after the convention, what would happen to the ballots? Would they then only have McCain's name on them?

2. Yup, it's official as soon as she finishes her acceptance speech.
After that, the entire GOP has tied her around their collective necks.

3. The way it should work is a nomination process and roll call vote
After the voting ends she would be considered the nominee.

The republicons may do it a little differently in that swill of a convention they have.

5. After the vote, she has to accept.
Once she says "I accept your nomination," usually at the start of the acceptance speech, she's officially the VP nominee.

6. Plan A: Palin delivers acceptance speech/is nominated
Plan B: Palin steps down because of family issues.

Whether or not they execute it, I'm sure Plan B is at least in active debate and the speech is written.

If they were going to cut bait, now would be the best time.
