Anyone notice that McCain has been missing from the media for the last 48 hours

He had a few photo ops but pointedly refused CNN's request to appear live on Anderson Cooper 360

It would seem that they are catching up on some information from their vetting team and don't want him to say something really stupid like "well she was in the PTA" on national media.

How long is it going to take for them to get their story straight?

4. I think Cindy surprised John with a box set of the Bond films.
McCain loves his Bond films.

You can't expect him to come out for politicking when there are Bond films to watch.

:hi:

Anyone would after trying to be President for decades, seeing it crumble through your fingers like this.
All because you couldn't have your Lieberman. This is one hell of a greek tragedy.

9. This morning a ballsy reporter who yelled out to him "Did you vet Sarah Palin?"
He looked very pissy and said "She was very thoroughly vetted" as his staff tried to drag him away.

Andrea Mitchell just showed video of it on MSNBC.

11. Grantcart, just read this article - it should offer somewhat of an explanation:
Sept. 2 (Bloomberg) -- The longtime love affair between John McCain and what he once called his ``base'' -- the national news media -- is on the rocks.

McCain's top aide, Steve Schmidt, yesterday lashed out at what he deemed ``offensive'' and ``demeaning'' coverage and questions from reporters after McCain's running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, confirmed her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.

``It used to be that a lot of those smears and the crap on the Internet stayed out of the newsrooms of serious journalists,'' Schmidt said at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota.

:nopity:

Schmidt's criticism is the latest example in the unraveling of what was once a fond relationship between the presumptive Republican presidential nominee and the media. Starting in the 2000 Republican primaries, the Arizona senator became a media sensation by chatting up the press in the back of his ``Straight Talk Express'' campaign bus. The national press corps freely mingled with McCain for hours on the bus, with no topic off limits.
