Back to Obama for a Minute: Submit and Vote On Ideas for Campaign Strategy
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 12:19 PM by margotb822
OhBoyObama! is a new website that allows you to submit your ideas for the campaign and vote on ideas submitted by other Obama supporters. It's like Digg for campaign strategy - the best ideas get voted to the top.

Just go to http://www.OhBoyObama.com , register as a new user, and start voting or submit your own idea, called a "scoop."

1. Wouldn't it be better for people to spend their time getting out the vote?
I think it would be much more effective for people to spend their energy getting out and phone banking and canvassing. Playing chief strategist is a lot of fun, but we already have plenty of chiefs and not nearly enough Indians. If you want to win this election I'd really suggest that people get out and do some volunteering.

2. I think it depends what state you're in
I live in CA, so there isn't a lot to do for Obama there. I'm volunteering for a local campaign instead. Maybe they're trying to get people involved who are not comfortable with volunteering. I just thought this was interesting. After all, the best way to win the people's vote is to know what they're looking for.

3. My suggestion would be to phone bank to a swing state
Check out the neighbor to neighbor tool at barackobama.com. They can give you a call list of people somewhere that is still up in the air.

I'm glad that people are interested in the campaign, but the armchair warriors irritate me. Not that good ideas can't come from regular people, but if they really want to help Barack get elected I hope that their activism doesn't end with "If I were running the show, this is what I'd do".
