Sarah the Book Banner
"Stein (former mayor of Wasilla) says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire her for not giving "full support" to the mayor."

3. I don't know

Germany in the 1930s?

This lady is as close to a true fascist as we've ever in this particular position. She makes George W Bush look sane.

5. Precisely
I don't think we could find a better poster child for what we stand against than Sarah Palin. She's downright scary all the way around and she's not bright enough to disguise any of it - she's just a plain spoken fascist that uses religion as her smokescreen.

9. And that is why she may be useful to our side

I have always said I like to have the most off kilter nutbags out there. I was DISAPOINTED when Savage got fired...I WANT Annthrax Coulter out there on the media and I want Sarah Palin on the ticket.

I don't want someone who is a 'stealth fascist'.

NEVER ONCE have I heard a moderate, indie or a Dem come to me and say, 'you know I really think Conservatives may have some good ideas I just heard an interview with Ann Coulter.'

People like Palin do NOT change minds, because they aren't in the business of compromise or objective and reasoned analysis. They force their dictates onto you not only in action, but in word. It's the most extreme of these people we need to get out there.

In fact, this may be McCain's most brilliant, most American thing he's ever done...he's delivering to America the cold strychnine of religious right Conservatism for complete and total exposure, free from the clichés and misleading soundbytes. Maybe he knows he is going to lose and he’s taking the religious right (the same crew that destroyed him in 2000) down with him.

For if there is anyone that can marginalize the religious right it is the religious right. Giving the most radical of viewpoints national voice is NOT a bad thing. The more people that hear this extreme zealot the more people will wake up and realize we’re in deep shit if we let the Christian Taliban take over. If he pulls this off I will consider McCain one of our greatest American heroes.

6. I was just thinking that myself
George might try to take away our rights but he sure knows what they are, while Sarah is completely clueless. The concept of free speech and privacy just fly right in one ear and out the other. The poor empty headed twit.

4. Probably would've had a book bonfire
if she thought she would've gotten away from it.

Banning books because they thought they "had inappropriate language in them.?" Disgusting. Censorship is one of my hot-button issues.

7. Then I guess the children's book Everyone Poops would be on that list?
And yes that is an actual book.

13. Or my sons favorite, "Whose Poop Is This"?
It's a nice little book about animals and their habitats but it presents the material in a fun, interesting way. Oddly enough, I was a little cautious about the book when my mom gave it to him, but it really is a neat book!

Sarah Palin - fighting "naughty words" one library at a time.
