Why isn't Obama talking more about his knowledge of the Constitution? |
|
One of Obama's real strengths is that Obama was a Constitutional law professor for 12 years. Certainly, in this era where Bush used and abused the U.S. Constitution, having a president who has a deep and profound knowledge of the Constitution is a huge plus, not only in knowledge but in experience. Teaching Constitutional law for 12 years, after graduating magna cum laude from Harvard University law school, which is among the finest in the nation, means that he can make decisions grounded in our history and our Constitution. This is no small area of expertise, not only in terms of thew way we conduct our foreign policy, but in terms our economy, our civil rights, our environment, and so on. Plus, there's no way they can accuse Obama of being an "ambulance chaser" or an unscrupulous lawyer of another order. his background in law is exactly what a post-Bush presidency demands.

The last thing Obama needs to speak about with great detail are constitutional nuances.
