Babies need hats to help regulate their temps. And a sweater. He needs a sweater for when it gets colder. What an adorable little guy. Too bad his parents are so messed up.

63. She's reaping what she's sown.
It's HER political ideology that makes such issues a matter of PUBLIC law. SHE dragged her brood out into the spotlight. It's THEIR behavior that's the issue, NOT the public concern for the character and integrity of public officials.

Nobody is ordering her to do this against her will. You probably couldn't, anyway.

She wants this. She clearly has bigtime ambition. But this is the raging river you dive into when you want to get involved at this level. And you better be ready to swim with the current.

107. No!!! Indeed!!! LOVE IT!!! And Welcome to DU!
I'm just THRILLED that this story has legs. MAN does it have legs. That's all people seem to want to talk about. I think they were hoping the weather and the weekend and the gushing over the pretty lady with the photogenic family would make us all forget. It'd just fade down the memory hole.

NOT A CHANCE.

And EVERY question about her preparedness and ability to serve is absolutely worthy. EVERY question should be asked. And this woman's situation provokes a LOT of questions. As it should. And it also makes me wonder - she's 44 with another new baby - her fifth, and this one's a special-needs child. I wonder if she intends to keep crankin' out babies until her clock runs out? I'd think if you already have a good-size family, at an advanced age (for getting pregnant, anyway), you might say you've done quite nicely enough and call it a day. ESPECIALLY if you already have a big important job, and you're angling for an exponentially bigger one.

KNOW that if Chelsea or Amy Carter had gotten pregnant while living in the white house their parents would be raked over the coals.

All's fair in love and politics, Palin family.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden can choose to lay off the family but IMHO for the rest of us they are FAIR GAME.

IMHO, the first indication of how someone would run an executive position is how they run their family life.

I LOVE IT!!!

but if it involves sex, pregnancies, and lies involved with any of the above, they're all over it.

Game's over, republicans. You lose. THAT magazine cover is more damaging than hours of talk on TV. People stand there and stare at those covers and even if they'd never buy one, they look at it. Pick it up, scan it. Absorb it.

That's really REALLY bad right there.

That's a cover you expect to see on Time, Newsweek, etc. Not some People-ish personality rag that would normally run a fluff piece.

OUCH indeed!

A really quick hit - and for those who just look at the cover and either don't buy the magazine or do buy it but may not get much time to read it. If they're busy moms, they may not. Personally, I LOVE reading "the trash," but I seldom get time to wade through a whole magazine of it.

The meme is planted. So is the seed. It will grow without watering or feeding. This kind of stuff sticks like gum on the bottom of your shoe. Hey, mcsame, you still wanna go for this? There's always Holy Joe, y'know. His family doesn't include a teenage trainwreck, as far as I know.

125. What I REALLY love about this:
it's US Weekly doing it.

Not the Democratic party.

Not Democrats.

A magazine.

As someone who unashamedly follows all that celebrity gossipy stuff on the intertubes, I can say with complete certainty that US Weekly just handed a huge gift-wrapped present to the Democratic party and to America.

One of Rush's callers today said, "She didn't give away her 'retarded' son and her daughter made a mistake." That's as I was switching the station before I ran off the road.

That tells you alot about his listeners. I didn't stick around to hear his response. I normally only drive on weekends and listen to the tech shows on KFI but I had go into town today.

depicting Michelle and Barack Obama as turban wearing, gun wielding terrorists. Mostly because the audience who will see the US cover is standing daily in checkout lines, thumbing through, and probably has never heard of The New Yorker.
