Poll question: Which would hurt McCain more: keeping Palin or replacing her? |
|
Palin isn't playing well even in many conservative circles. The question is, can McCain afford to replace her?

spending more time with her family, whose tree is shaped like a pretzel.

And neither creature wants him in their domain.
Some fundies seem to be willing to go with Palin but I don't hear the loud hurrah I expected to hear with a Far right fundie pick. She has reassured some of them but by no means all of them, and very possibly not enough to solidify and motivate the nutbag crowd.
Supporters of Senator Clinton are an astute bunch and quite a damn bit more sophisticated than supporters of Sarah Palin in women's issues generally and in reproductive freedom especially. I don't believe the gamble of picking Palin because she's female has worked for McCain, and he could probably have consulted any number of people prior to the pick who would have told him the same thing.
I think the choice of Palin has been dispiriting to GOP delegates. These are the folks who, after the dull convention in St. Paul, return to their respective districts to whoop up support for the ticket.
I think McCain has made that a great deal more difficult with the Palin pick.
I think it will hurt him more to keep her than to have her "step aside in the interests of the party."

Because Sarah will shoot the moose and then drink its blood.

5. he can't dump her, it is suicide |

at least at this point. things can change and get worse though as more and more is exposed. If they hang on a little longer with no new bombshells, they'll have to stick with her and hope for the best. They'll make a mighty effort to pull it off, but i have a feeling they won't succeed.

8. Replacing her would hurt. Keeping her won't. |

Likes to hunt. Under investigation, but by the party hacks from the party she exposed. So much in favor of state and local rights that she treats secessionists with respect. Mother of five. Raised a daughter who did the right thing in keeping her child and marrying the father when she got pregnant before she had intended to.
Palin is the fucking Mother Teresa of Middle American Womanhood. I laugh as much as anyone else at this Ratpukian clusterfuck. But when I stop to give it serious thought, I realize this is not good news for our side.
