Every day McCain has to defend his Palin pick is a day he can't attack Obama. |
I think we want the uproar over Palin to last as long as possible and eat up as many days as possible.

1. With a little luck, that will be every day for the rest of the campaign. |

2. It also makes it harder and harder to get a convention bump. |
Look, Obama wasn't defending shit during his convention, giving him mostly positive press for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. McCain already lost Monday and is losing Tuesday, as well. That leaves TWO DAYS of convention coverage to make things right. If he loses tomorrow, there might be an actual decline in his numbers once the convention ends.

4. But when your opponent is shooting himself in the foot... |
then its time to STFU and get out of the way. Obama is handling himself marvelously.

I know Obama is handling himself marvelously, he (and even Biden)are sticking true to their words of no personal attacks. I'm just saying I think McCain should still have to answer for his positions on the issues, but now he won't even speak to the press.

8. If McC won't speak to the press |
then he projects an aura of guilt, defensiveness, and indecision. Plus, he can't get his positive spin out, nor attack Obama. His surregates are so transparent they're laughable. His pick and the RNC are turning into debacles. What more could Obama ask for? He is sticking to his message - calm, cool, collected, presidential. That is what counts now, plenty of time left to directly attack McVolcano.

5. Worked for McCain when he was attacking Obama, but... |
this time Obama is letting the MSM stir up the questions. Obama looks like the better person by refusing to go after Palin and her family.

13. Like McCain's campaign manager said, elections are not about issues. |
The Dems have been right about the issues for decades, and Repugs beat them in elections, which are about personalities and flag pins. Repugs understand that, it's time Dems did the same.

14. As Karl Rove said - "If you are explaining, you are losing" |
That is why they throw as much as mud as possible on the hope that something would stick and get the opponent on the defensive.
