Remember a little more than a week ago, post-Biden announcement? That Saturday, a lot of newish |
|
posters were posting things along the lines of "the Veep pick I fear most is Sarah Palin." I honestly think DU was being used to vett Palin to some degree. there were some along the lines of other potentials, but the majority seemed to be about Palin.
Many DUers (including myself) responded that Troopergate would take up so much defensive time for McCain he couldn't afford that pick.
Seems soooo long ago...

3. the proper term of Palin is "blowback" |
|
she is/was a walking talking wedge issue meant to stir up the fundies, but all of her baggage is blowing back big time....
I was scared of her at first: cute, loves guns, family......, but now she's reaping the whirlwind

There's a subset of Paul supporters who were pushing for Palin. They love the guns, snowmobiles, and "rugged individualism" schtick.
The hard-core libertarian absolutists don't care for her, because of her social conservatism, but the more "Republican" Paulistas adore this woman.

http://www.nhinsider.com/keith-murphy/Murphy is a member of the "Free State Project", a libertarian fringe group. The local libertarians have drinking parties while open carrying firearms at his bar. You can't make this stuff up.

10. There were oodles of DUers - new and old - spouting the idiotic.... |
|
"the choice of Palin is SOOOOOOO scary - we're falling for a Rove ploy! ROVE IS GAWD!!!!!!!" crap.
i believe they're currently to embarrassed to speak anymore, which is probably for the best.

11. I do remember seeing alot of Palin threads. |
|
I mostly didn't open them, because I didn't know her from Adam, and she didn't seem a very plausible choice, but I did see quite a few of them.
