It's the expectations game isn't it? Raise Obama's, Lower McCain's, just like in 2000... |
|
One of the reasons Bush won in 2000 was because people had such low expectations for him and his debates. Even when he lost debates, he "won" them and got good reviews because the bar was set so low for him.
That's what the RNC is doing with Palin. The expectations are set so low for her that even if she loses to Biden in the debate, it will still be a win.
And they're doing it to Obama, too. Even a Bush aides complimented him today saying he was one of the top political figures in the US. They're building up expectations for him so when McCain loses debates and speach comparisons, he'll still win.
Arghhhh!

5. We (you) need to keep fighting every day until election day. Taking a win for granted will = losing |

4. Its a reflection of the idea that being smart is some how a negative in this nation |
|
The right has tried to associate being smart with being elitist. Anyone that comes off as knowing what they are talking about is viewed as being elitist. Its rather simple when the audience has been dumbed down. All you need to do is point at an informed speech that is difficult to understand and make emotional claims about it being wrong. Since the target audience doesn't understand or care to understand the intricacies of the matter the emotional appeals work on them far better than reason would.
