Should we send Bristol Baby gifts to show her we support her?
Edited on Tue Sep-02-08 06:46 PM by Heather MC
I am serious. I am so sick of hearing the Right Wing say we Liberals want her to Abort her baby, when that is so far from the truth it' disgusting.

Could we send her support notes and praise her for her right to choose?

I am asking before I do it, I don't want anyone to think it's mockery ok so I will put myself out there so you guys understand where I am coming from

When I was Bristol Age I found out I was pregnant, I was alone and terrified, I grew up in a family where my getting pregnant was considered such a bad thing that my father often wished he had only had boys. He would say, "It's harder to raise girls than it is boys, because girls can get pregnant"
My Mother believed in Abstinence only No BC teaching.

When I was 13 I asked my mother Hypothetically (I was not having sex at 13) but I did ask
what would you do if I ever got pregnant. She said,"NOTHING, Absolutely nothing, I wouldn't babysit it, I wouldn't bounce it on my knee, you would be on your own"

So when I was 18 and I read the test saying I was infact pregnant, I was terrified my family would never speak to me again. I felt completely alone.

So I understand what Bristol is going through, and my heart goes out to her.
So knowing my motivation behind why I want to send her baby gifts
Should I? should we?

EDIT:
Thanks guys for your honest response, I will leave the girl alone.

7.  I don't care what they think,
I am just trying to imagine how it would feel, if people were telling me 38 million people wanted me to "kill my baby" That's just an assumption of course we don't know what she is being told

2. I'm not.
I wish her and the baby well, I really do, but they will be fine.

I am more worried about the girls who do not have the support network, financial resources and access to health care that this girl will have.

at Dook. No class - not funny - they go for the opponent's jugular. You honestly wouldn't BELIEVE some of the things they have done - just like the f*ckin' Republicans.

WIN AT ALL COSTS.

Read excerpts from Machiavelli - they are playing their campaign right by the book.

And, ask yourself: based on how the Rethugs have SMEARED Obama since Day 1, what do you think they would do if the situation were reversed???

Let the elitist snobs throw her a f*cking shower at the convention!

I wish PP would add a link to its homepage for donating specifically in her name. They currently call out the Bush admin, why not her?

What would be some other good ones?

--women's/family shelters
