Palin to bash Obama this evening....excerts of speech leaked
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/03/palin.speech/index.html

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin directs a sharp jibe at Barack Obama in her speech to the Republican National Convention Wednesday night, according to excerpts released by the campaign.

Contrasting her resume with that of the Democratic presidential nominee, she says: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

Obama worked as a community organizer in Chicago in the 1980s before attending Harvard Law School. Palin was a two-term mayor of the town of Wasilla, Alaska, a small town of about 5,000 people.

She also contrasts Republican presidential candidate John McCain with Obama.
Don't Miss

"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change," she says.

1. I am dreaming that she will f-up one of these leaked lines.
I know she knows how to talk and memorize a speech, but maybe the national attention will get to her.

13. What was she doing while Obama was
community organizing in Chicago? That experience no doubt helped him win the hard fought primary.

18. Yes. AT LEAST Obama's camp should start talking IN GRUESOME DETAIL about
the numerous failures of the administration and GOP over the last 8 years in EVERY POLICY AREA. After the RNC I want to see some brutal honesty and descriptions of misdeeds and mis management. Nothing slimy or untrue...just a reminder of all manner of abuse.

This isn't just another political race. It's the opposition party trying to unseat the most corrupt, the worst, the most dangerous administration and GOP supporting cast in history. Trying to take some ineffective version of the high road and ignoring facts won't get it done. The public has a very short memory and pays attention only to the latest newsy news that the media narrows the discussion down to. The GOP would love for the conversation to be about unwed teens, the experience of Obama vs Palin, flag pins, ONE speech by Palin, etc. There's a list a mile long of damage that's been done to the country and the world....let's talk about it! The public is ready

Those saying Obama shouldn't attack Palin are right...but he must attack the record in detail. Come on!

5. GOP is the party of cheap shots
Obama has been very professional in his remarks about Palin, thus far. Barrack should continue to take the high ride.

7. They're trying to goad Obama into running against her.
The strategy is to bring him down to her level. It's not going to work. Obama is running against McCain and will be unlikely to bite.

But it opens her up for Biden to rip her apart.

11. Biden should rip her apart! If she can't take the heat, she should not
run for VP. Obama should not even mention her. She is not on his level so he should ignore her.

8. Most anyone (with some well known exceptions) can read a speech.
The effect of the speech depends on the credibility of the person giving it. Outside the 20%ers she has none and to attack Obama without it will prove a folly IMO.

Palin Obtained a Business License for Marketing and Consulting, Saying that She Wanted To Line Up Her Ducks if She Chose to Pursue It. “Asked about the business registered under her name, Palin said, ‘Rouge Cou, it’s a classy way of saying redneck. It’s a French word, rouge is red, cou is neck. It’s for marketing and consulting, in case I wanted to go that route, I’d have my ducks all lined up and have a business license. I just was granted that business license. … I would like to, with some of the endeavors that I have going on right now, there comes a time when one desires to be paid for them!’” http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080902/pl_politico/13084
