Dole is the only Republican candidate since Ford who didn't kowtow to the religious right.

He refused to bash gay people in 1996, and snapped at one of his campaign workers that "they're Americans, too".

He's actually a decent person and I'm sure this circus is nauseating him as much as it is us.
