1. I sometimes question Joe Klein, but this is a good, quick read. If he's right,
all the unity behind Palin on the convention floor is a paper front. McCain is panicked.

3. I think he's been in a panic for a week...
According what I've been reading (sorry, no links -- check Kos and Huffington Post), McCain didn't make the decision until Thursday night AFTER OBAMA'S SPEECH. That sounds like somebody who went, "Holy Shit, I've got to do something quick" and then went out and did something quick. Way too quick.

Love to see how he handles an international crisis.

2. This is the very reason I dread a McCain Presidency
McTemper will shoot first and not even bother to ask questions. He's too quick-tempered to be fit to serve in the most powerful position on the planet.
