Palin wanted to improve her children's public education so she joined the PTA??
I was on the PTA board for two years - sample meeting:

- Unanimous decision on holding popsicle party for classes that get 100% PTA membership
- discussed wrapping paper fundraiser
- 15 minute back and forth over the merits of cookie dough vs. ubiquitous wrapping paper fundraiser
- 15 minute round table on MarketDay
- question on whether we followed Roberts Rules of Order (which no one owns or has read)
- Treasurer's Report
- 20 minutes on Parenting Seminar (which are always poorly attended) vs. more 'hands on' family craft night
- Teacher grants reviewed/discusses/approved for small class projects
- Meeting adjourned

That horse's ass dares to mock community organizing when she brags about the extras that a PTA provides. Yes, we donated a monument sign to the school, and put in a voice mail system, but come on! Schools can run without PTAs, but communities that are suffering, tenants of slumlords without decent plumbing, families that are hurting without heat - these people are helped by and lives are changed by, community organizers. The difference between what those two groups do is embarassing. My town of 13,000 (twice as populated at Wasilla) doesn't even have a government. We manage without a Mayor and City Manager... somehow we muddle through.

She's lame. Her experience is lame. Her running mate is lame. Her argument is lamest of all.

1. She had to pad her resume with something
This is all so surreal. Such a joke to think the public will buy the B.S. that she's qualified for the V.P.position. All of those Republicans shilling for her are only concerned with their own political futures. They don't realize how ignorant they look.

2. can you imagine a Democrat trying to use PTA experience to run for office
we'd run them out of town on a rail, not put them a heartbeat away from the most powerful job in the world.

3. That's right....and one criticism on Palin's lame qualifications
and the Republicans are crying "sexism". I can't wait for the Dem. surrogates to get back on track after this convention is over and start slamming the ticket. Hammer McCain for his poor and reckless judgement.

CAN I BE PRESIDENT, NOW?????

P.S. Bristol is holding the baby Trig again....WHY Doesn't dad Troy ever hold his son?????? I don't get it? My husband was the dad--he held my daughter when she was born if I couldn't. My son was the brother...he wasn't asked to be anything more than an adoring older brother.
