ST. PAUL, Minn. - Claiming her historic spot on the Republican ticket, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin mocked Barack Obama's experience and promise of change Wednesday night and pledged to help John McCain upend the Washington establishment.


"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers," she said in a barbed reference to Obama's campaign theme. I've worked in journalism, and I know the difference. It's a offense that can get you fired... you cannot lie, and he lied that she "said".

I can tell you this is common practice -- the wires move stories like this for papers whose deadlines may be slightly earlier than when the speech is actually given. It's a hedge. They do it for everyone. It's not a political thing. It just flew under the radar for so long but people notice it now because of wire feeds showing up on the Web. It's not a conspiracy.
